Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Vs. Tesla Model Y

If you’re looking for an EV that is perfect for a small family or has enough storage to load up your friends for a weekend getaway, there are two great options on the market. The Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium and the Tesla Model Y Long Range are often compared because of their similarities, so here we break it down for you.

The Price

The Mach-E Premium has a starting price of $47,600 and the Model Y starts at $53,900. Each car has extra customization fees as you begin to design it to fit your personality. The customization fees are discussed below.

The Specs & Features

If you’re looking for a car with distance, the Model Y wins with 326 miles with long range. Long range comes with the basic package of the Model Y. The Mach-E has an estimated 305 mile range but when buying the vehicle, you have to upgrade to the extended range battery, RWD. The basic option with the Model Y gets you farther on one charge than the Mach-E Premium basic package.

The fastest speed the Mach-E can go is 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. But, that comes with the extended range battery, AWD. The long range Model Y is the same speed. If you’re looking for something faster, purchase the performance version of the Model Y for 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.

Tesla can take a lot more kilowatts which charges it faster.

There are over 13,000 DC Fast Charging locations in the US. Your FordPass app can find these locations but you can also use 3rd party apps to find more. However, Ford is actively working on more DC Fast Charging locations built by Ford, like how Tesla has its supercharger stations.  Over 1800 Supercharger locations (tesla-specific integral system) & access to others with adapters-
